About
Photography as a way of staying with a person, a place, or a question.
Burney van Leenen is a Dutch photographer working across portraiture, social documentary and staged image-making. His projects begin with close observation and develop as coherent series rather than isolated photographs.
Whether photographing people separated by their windows, makers rebuilding a practice in a new country, or a city in the short blue interval before night, he looks for images that are precise without becoming closed. Light, environment and gesture carry as much meaning as the subject itself.
The work is available for exhibitions, publications and selected print enquiries. Details about format and edition are shared personally when they have been established for a particular photograph.
